BuildHer8 Joint Venture Project | Northcote VIC

During my time at BuildHer, one of the many Joint Venture (JV) projects created was the Rathmines Project by the #BuildHer8. This was a JV with 7 other women creating the #BuildHer8, which I am extremely proud of.

With the land already purchased by one party and settlement approaching, by bringing in 7 partners with funds and time, we were able to example a model where we co-funded and developed two houses in Fairfield, Victoria.

The purposes of the project was to show an alternative way of developing a project while mentoring and sharing what happens behind the scenes of a development. Each person was given responsibility in areas of project management, whilst our development partner was a registered builder.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project timeframe from start to finish was 2020 - 2022.

Sold successfully with local agents Jellis Craig, and partnering with some exciting suppliers, the project was a success in teaching women how to navigate design issues, sales strategies, building delays, cost control and resolving complex financial dealings.

The result was two beautiful architecturally designed 4 bedroom homes by Ben Callery Architects, combined with stunning landscape design by Peachy Green and interior design solutions by R&Co.Design.Studio and Alison Lewis, and built by Beirin Projects.
